Update: And I'm back!
I'm finally done here and I'm coming back to the States. Can't wait.
I've had some great times here with the guys at Blinkx as well as Autonomy at work, local pubs, and restaurants. I'm looking forward to seeing Matt, Sergio, and Andy who are going to the US for a month or two.
That is all for now, the taxi is picking me up at 6:30am, so I am pulling an all-nighter until then. See you all in California. …
Converting from CVS to SVN: Developer's Notes And Why SVN Is Better
Updated: July 17th, 2006
(Work in progress) Last week at the new company I got hired at, I was trying to push the repository approach to developing and maintaining data. For one reason or another, it wasn't being done at the time. As a CVS user and admin, I wanted to set up CVS but decided to explore other options as well, including Perforce and SVN. Well, the choice between those 2 was easy: SVN is completely free while Perforce allows only 2 licenses with $800/license beyond those 2. My first SVN impression was that it's quite different from CVS, but in a very good way. Now that I'm actively using it, I'll be adding my thoughts to this page in the …

So a couple of days ago I finally visited London. The train from Cambridge takes about 1h15m, and the roundtrip ticket only costs 13 pounds due to some promotion. I ended up walking around a lot and taking the hop on – hop off tour bus. One day is obviously not enough to see all of London but it allowed me to see lots of famous things without entering them.
Here are the pictures: 2006.07.08 London.

7/3: Thought of the day: Cambridge = Davis in the 16th century. Same amount of bikes but instead of dusty streets, Cambridge has medieval castles. For example:

7/2: So my 2nd week started today, and I finally decided to get my butt out of bed and go explore Cambridge. I got up at the crack of noon and took a taxi downtown where I went on a guided tour around a couple of colleges as well as the punt tour of the river Cam (that's what Cambridge derives its name from). I also walked around town and visited souvenier shops. The 2 hour walk home was pleasantly tiring.
Finally, here are some pictures …

Edit 7/1: And this is what happens during England national team soccer games in UK (I can't imagine what the finals would be like).
Edit 6/30: Just came back from the pub after watching the UKR-ITA game and hanging with the guys. Very upsetting game, horrible performance by the Ukraine, although I wasn't expecting anything good to come out of it anyway. On a brighter note, the weekend is finally here! Sleep time…..
Edit 6/29: I'm awake at 3am because some idiots outside the hotel are screaming their heads off, and one is running around yelling "Punch me in the face, punch me in the #$#%%#@#@ face!!". I truly, truly wish he gets what he wants.

Unbelievable! Working and Active Exploit on citibank.com and Many Other Sites
Updated: July 15th, 2006
Edit: this has now been fixed, but I'm sure many sites are still vulnerable.
Here's the link: click here
Unbelievable! This exploit is claimed to exist on 250+ sites. Here's the quote from the guy who found it:
"Look by yourself – this is how citibank.com cares about phishing and password theft. I reported it 20 hours ago. Nothing happened. Maybe it's time to make it public? It is an active link to working exploit, ready to send YOUR data from citibank.com domain to attacker's server – so dont give your real login and pass please."
Reported on digg.com….
